My philosophy as a teacher is that "Every child deserves a champion – an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be." - Rita Pierson That is why I believe that a teacher has a moral obligation to approach the classroom with only the highest aspirations and expectations for all of her students. It is my dream to promote an environment in which students can reach their full potential. I will provide a positive and safe environment for students to share their thoughts and take risks and this is supported by Abraham Maslow’s theory “The hierarchy of Needs” which says that the basic foundation is that students need to feel safe and have their basic needs met. I will encourage my students to express themselves and embrace themselves for whom they are, while still respecting the differences of others.

I strongly believe there are five important elements that promote learning. (1) The function of the instructor is to serve as a guide. (2) Students must be able to participate in hands-on activities and this is supported by John Dewey’s theory “Hands-on Approach” which says that human beings learn through a hands-on approach and that reality must be experienced. It means that students must interact with their environment in order to adapt and learn. (3) Students should have the ability to make decisions and allow their curiosity and interest to guide their learning. (4) Students must have the ability to learn skills in a healthy environment. (5) Technology must be used in the classroom if available,  as part of your lesson plan. Teaching is a learning process in which you learn from your students, coworkers, families, and the world. This is a lifelong process of learning new methods, concepts, and philosophies. My educational theory may change and evolve, which is fine. That simply means I've grown as a person, teacher, and friend in learning new things.
